How to choose a first birthday dress for your baby
Short answer: Choose by age, take the larger size if your baby is between two, pick soft comfortable cloth and buy two weeks early so there is time to exchange.
Comfort before decoration
A baby will be held, photographed and fed during the function. Choose soft cloth without scratchy lace or hard embroidery on the inside. Check the neck and fastenings so they are easy to open for changing.
Pick the size by age and weight
Look at your baby’s age and weight and compare with the size label. Babies near their first birthday are often between sizes, so choose the larger one. A dress that is slightly big can be worn comfortably; a tight one cannot.
Buy two weeks early
This leaves time to exchange the size or add a matching hairband, shoes or cap. If you order online from us, tell us the date of the function when we call to confirm.
